'Do research' before booking a South of France holiday
Those planning to book a South of France villa holiday need to do plenty of research before deciding on where to stay.
This is the advice of Carol Perehudoff, writing for the Toronto Star, who explained that because the region is fairly large, it is important to narrow down a list of potential destinations early on.
"Provence is popular but my top choice was Vence, a hilly town on the Riviera where Matisse once had a studio," she remarked.
Ms Perehudoff noted that her and her boyfriend ended up splitting their stay in the South of France between a rural and urban base so as to get "a taste of two worlds", adding booking a South of France villa has numerous advantages, including the fact that it is often cheaper than a hotel.
"You'll [also] get the chance to live like a local," she concluded.
"Earlier this month, Color Magazine writer Trond Arne Undheim recommended a visit to Provence, stating the fact that it is France's oldest wine region makes it appealing to many.
