There are many activities on offer, and the annual boat race at the end of August is one of the highlights. The area is renowned for some of the best beaches in Italy, particularly La Pelosa, which has fine white sand and crystal azure sea, more typical of tropical locations. The island of Asinara is worth a visit as it’s the areas national park and home to various wildlife, or in the other direction, Alghero offers another sandy beach as well as plenty of boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and bars throughout the cobbled streets.

Coda Cavallo is a sub resort of San Teodoro, which over the last twenty years has become one of the most popular Sardinian resorts. San Teodoro is by the sea and its coast is characterised by an impressive 18 beaches and countless bays. With its fine white sand, La Cinta is the most famous beach of San Teodoro and also one of the most popular on the whole Island. The village is also renowned for its nightlife and for some of the biggest and most exclusive discos on the north-western coast of Sardinia. You will certainly be fascinated by the wonderful stretch of coast that surrounds the village. Many restaurants, cafes, bars and boutique shops can be found here, centralising around the picturesque San Teodoro Parish Church and in front of Gallura Square - a summer meeting place. There is also a museum about the Civilisations of the Sea.
