Visit the spiritual home of Menorca on a villa holiday
One destination which offers spectacular views and a place to reflect, relax or spend some peaceful time looking out to the sea is Monte Toro.
The mountain stands at 357 meters, making it the highest point on the island, What's on When reports.
It is Menorca's spiritual centre and on a clear day visitors can see the coast of neighbouring Mallorca.
At the summit is a baroque church dating back to 1595 which has been beautifully restored along with a monastery which was founded by Augustnian monks at the end of the 17th century.
The mountain gets its name from the Arabic Al-Thor, which means the highest.
Menorca may be the perfect place for families to escape to on a villa holiday as it is the most family-orientated of the Balearic islands and has beautiful beaches, picturesque villages and ancient historical sites.
