Visit the Queen of Coves on a Menorca holiday
Those planning Menorca villa holidays may already be aware that the island is home to hundreds of beautiful sandy coves.
Many of these can be visited by hiring a car and exploring the coastline, although holiday makers may wish to put one or two of the best on their priority list.
The resort of Cala Galdana is sure to make the shortlist, as it boasts a stunning horseshoe-shaped bay framed by dramatic limestone cliffs covered in pine trees.
Nicknamed the Queen of Coves, it is considered to be the most beautiful beach on the island and its warm shallow waters are perfect for bathing.
The resort is a great place for a day trip, as there are also plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as shops and other amenities.
Tourists can also follow a coastal trail that begins in the resort and takes them to the quieter, more secluded cove known as Cala Turqueta, which features on many a Menorca postcard.
Families renting Menorca villas in Son Bou will be able to reach Cala Galdana easily by car.
Son Bou boasts its own fantastic beach, which is the longest on the island at almost two kilometres.
