Visit 'another Stonehenge' when on a Menorca holiday

If visiting monolithic structures that have stood through the ages sounds like a stimulating alternative to a day by the pool, then a trip to Trepuco could be just the ticket.

Remnants of ancient civilisations wait to be discovered in the form of the Tayalot village, just a short trip from Mahon.

Here, giant stone structures called 'taula' stand. Such buildings had ceremonial significance to people of the age and many examples can be found in Menorca. However, those in Trepuco are among the largest and the best preserved.

Menorca is lucky to have such clear links to its past still evident for today's visitors to enjoy. From prehistoric remains to a gothic church, the island has something to suit every history lover's curiosity.
