Two week Spanish villa holidays 'proving popular'
Many holiday makers look to be taking up 14-day getaways to Spanish destinations, such as in Menorca villas, as opposed to seven-day trips, if new research is anything to be believed.
According to a new study conducted by Rhinocarhire.com, the number of two-week breaks to the European country this July sat at 24 per cent, a rise from the 18 per cent of tourists who opted for the same duration the same month in 2010.
In contrast, seven-day holidays have dropped from 20 per cent to 16 per cent when comparing the two same months.
Phil Partridge, marketing manager at Rhinocarhire.com, commented: "This could be a return of confidence in the economy or simply proves that after miserable weather in 2010, Brits are no longer prepared to forgo their two-week fix of summer sun!"
Brits will want to take as long as possible exploring the sights around villas in Menorca, which is home to such interesting resorts as Sant Luis, Mercadal and the island's capital city, Mahon.
