See some local art and crafts on a Menorca villa holiday

People who would appreciate the opportunity to learn about local culture during a Menorca villa holiday this year can pay a visit to one of the island's art and crafts centres.

The Menorca tourist board revealed that the Centro Artesanal in Es Mercadal helps to promote the practice and recognition of both traditional and contemporary arts and crafts.

Holiday makers can visit the attraction during a Menorca villa break to see a range of audiovisual exhibitions representing the work of local silversmiths, tapestry repairers and other artisans.

One of the most popular aspects of the Centro Artesanal is a permanent display that includes cattle shelters made from stone, barriers constructed from the wood of wild olive trees and ceramic pieces.

People planning to see these and other exhibits during a Menorca villa holiday can visit the venue from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 local time between May and October.

Visitors can also head to some of the island's regular markets to buy gin, honey, cheese and other local produce.
