Rent a Menorca villa and do some serious shopping
Those planning Menorca villa holidays will be able to indulge in some serious retail therapy in the Balearic island.
According to visitmenorca.com, there are numerous boutiques, delicatessens, lace and wool shops, handicraft studios and silverware stores waiting to be found.
"A special touch is that anything you purchase in these traditional shops is carefully wrapped - even the most basic of items," the website points out.
Open air markets are a common feature in Menorca and most towns and villages hold them every week.
The stalls at Calas Fonts and Fornells are not to be missed, while Ciutadella also holds an impressive market in the port area.
For the latest fashions and footwear items, holiday makers should head into the busy town centres.
Shoes are one of Menorca's main exports and many of its designs end up on the catwalks of London and New York.
Foodies will also find plenty to shout about, as local markets are packed with fresh produce.
Families could stock up on seafood, vegetables, dairy products and breads to make their own delicious meals in their Menorca villa.
Perhaps they could try Menorca's most famous dish - caldereta de langosta, or lobster stew.
Those renting Menorca villas in Arenal d'en Castell will be able to travel to the island's major towns and villages easily by car.
Fornells is just a short drive away, while Ciutadella and the capital Mahon can be reached along the main highway.
