Monte Toro a top Menorca holiday day trip
It may be difficult to fit everything into a Menorca villa holiday, but one excursion that should not be taken off the itinerary is a trip to Monte Toro.
Located in Es Mercadal, it is the highest point on the island, rising to over 350 metres, where tourists can get some fantastic views.
Also known as El Toro, the hill is home to a convent belonging to Franciscan nuns.
From the top, holiday makers will be able to look out across the whole island, taking some amazing photographs on a clear day.
If the weather conditions are right they may even be able to make out the coast of neighbouring Mallorca.
For those who plan to rent cars while in Menorca, it is possible to drive to the top of Monte Toro along a winding road. However, holiday makers may also be able to book organised trips.
Families staying in Menorca villas in Arenal d'en Castell will be able to get to Monte Toro easily.
The quiet north coast resort is situated in a horseshoe bay and has a small selection of restaurants and bars built up on the rocks overlooking the beach.
