Menorcan villas prove popular as overnight stays go up by nearly 20%
The number of people staying in Menorcan villas is continuing to rise, according to new figures.
EuroWeeklyNews.com reported that uncertainty in the eurozone has not affected international tourism thus far, with British and German travellers flocking to the region in large quantities.
Research from INE highlighted that there was a ten per cent rise in the number of people staying overnight in Spanish resorts in June compared to last year, with an increase of 20 per cent witnessed in the Balearics.
Among the tourist locations that those staying in Menorcan villas might want to visit include the Vestiges of Talayotic settlements, which date back to at around 2,000 BC, with Talati de Dalt and Rafal Rubi being two of the most prominent sites.
The Xoriguer Gin Distillery is also a popular day out, and it is the only traditional facility left on the island that uses copper stills which have been in operation for over a century.
