Menorca villas: More people seeking private holidays
More Europeans are travelling in order to enjoy a holiday, which could include taking flights to villas in Menorca, according to new research.
The new Eurobarometer survey has shown that 68 per cent of European Union citizens enjoyed a private travel pursuit in 2010.
This is up by three percentage points from 2009, which could suggest that more people are choosing to relax when visiting European villas.
Other results from the study include 58 per cent of respondents are opting for traditional tourist destinations, while 28 per cent are instead looking to explore emerging resorts.
Commenting on the findings, Antonio Tajani, the European Commission vice-president, noted: "The fact that 58 per cent of EU residents are opting to enjoy their holidays in Europe highlights that, generally, the tourism industry is on its way to recovery and becoming a growth industry once again."
Families who seek out Menorca villas will have plenty of attractions to entertain themselves, including its array of glorious harbours and the greenery of Es Freginal Park, located in the city of Mahon.
