Menorca villa guests offered beach tip
People planning a Menorca villa break this summer might be interested in visiting a beach that comes recommended from the Daily Telegraph.
As part of a series of articles covering the best seafront hotspots in some of Europe's top travel destinations, the newspaper highlighted Pregonda near Es Mercadal.
One of the big benefits of this beach is the fact that it is located on the island's quieter north coast, making it ideal for people planning some relaxing days by the sea during a Menorca villa holiday.
The Telegraph revealed that Pregonda boasts "reddish gold sand and pink rocks", which create the effect of a lunar landscape, as well as dunes and green fields nearby.
People with a passion for wildlife will find plenty to interest them in the area, including a marine reserve that provides a habitat for a colony of rare Audouin seagulls.
Keen snorkellers can don their masks and head into the sea to spot some of the marine creatures that populate the clear Mediterranean waters off Pregonda.
Another popular beach for holiday makers to visit during a Menorca villa break is Cala Macarella near Alaior.
