Menorca villa guests invited to sample local cuisine

People who enjoy sampling foreign cuisine will have a number of opportunities to try some exotic foods during a Menorca villa holiday this year.

A series of trade fairs showcasing Mediterranean cuisine, particularly the sorts of dishes that are popular in Menorca, will be held at different locations across the island over the coming months.

Sant Lluis will host the first event on May 22nd and 23rd, followed by Es Castell on May 29th and 30th.

The series of shows will then move to Ferreries on June 5th and 6th, before the final fair is held in Es Mercadal on June 12th and 13th.

Menorca villa holidays offer the opportunity for visitors to try foods that are informed by historic Jewish and Muslim traditions, as well as more recent British influences.

Particularly popular dishes that visitors can try during their time on the island include lobster stew, stuffed aubergines and sweet pastries known as 'pastissets'.

The destination is also known for its gin, liqueur and wine products.
