Learn about local cuisine on a Menorca villa holiday
Holiday makers enjoying Menorca villa breaks this year will have the opportunity to visit a museum celebrating one of the island's proudest culinary traditions.
The Mahon-Minorca Cheese Museum is thought to be the only establishment of its kind on the island and within the Balearics.
Located on a farmstead 1km from Ferreries, the museum was created by the family that manages the cheese manufacturing firm Hort de Sant Patrici.
The local tourist board revealed that Menorca villa guests can take a tour of the attraction to find out about the history of cheese production on the island, including how it was traditionally made by hand.
All sorts of artefacts and tools are on display in the museum, including milk jars, presses and earthenware tubs.
Arguably the highlight of the experience is the opportunity to try a variety of cheeses that are made locally, as well as wines to complement the dairy products.
Other attractions worth visiting during a Menorca villa holiday include Mahon's bustling harbour.
