Jump in the saddle on a Menorca holiday
There are many ways to explore the island of Menorca, but perhaps one of the most enjoyable is on horseback.
In2town lifestyle magazine points out that horses are held in high regard in Menorca, with well-trained stallions performing at local fiestas and shows.
But when they are now showing off their skills, the animals can be used to take tourists on sightseeing excursions through the heart of the Menorcan countryside and along the island's rugged coastline.
The publication states that the town of Cala en Porter is the best place to go horse riding on a Menorca villa holiday.
Visitors can ride through sheltered woodland areas, along coastal paths that look down to the glistening sea below or past Bronze Age ruins and megaliths.
Families can rent their own Menorca villas in Cala en Porter, which is one of the oldest resorts on the island.
Here, they can also relax on the beautiful sandy beach, which is protected by limestone cliffs and is home to a variety of seabirds.
They are also a selection of bars and restaurants along the seafront and in the resort itself.
