Horse around on a Menorca holiday
Taking place every year on August 15th and 16th on the sun-kissed Spanish island, the fiesta provides plenty of horse-orientated offerings.
Held in Alaior, the event features concerts, breathtaking displays of horsemanship and dancing.
The highlight of the occasion is the Jaleo, which sees riders gee their steeds to rear up on their back legs in the middle of the crowds of spectators.
Alaior is centrally located on the island and can easily be reached by hire car from a villa in the relaxing hilltop Torre Soli.
Torre Soli offers the best of both worlds as it boasts stunning views of the Balearic countryside, while it is just a ten-minute walk to the popular area of Son Bou - home to the longest beach on the island and plenty of amenities.
After visiting the Sant Lorenc Fiesta, holiday makers could make the short journey to the island's capital of Mahon.
