Get to grips with nature on a Menorca holiday
Menorca villa holiday makers will soon discover that the island has a fascinating eco-system, with terrain ranging from rocky coves to wetland areas.
And where better to hear about its environmental history than at the Nature Museum in the town of Ferreries.
Here, visitors can see a wide range of exhibits which demonstrate the complexity of the island's ecology.
They can also view interactive displays and seasonal exhibitions or attend talks on a number of environmental topics.
It could be a great place to go to find out about Menorca's wildlife before getting out and about by car to see the animals up close.
The S'Albufera d'Es Grau nature reserve is perhaps one of the best places on the island to spot wildlife, particularly birds.
Those renting Menorca villas in Arenal d'en Castell will be close to Es Grau and its natural attractions, while the museum in Ferreries can also be reached easily by car.
Arenal d'en Castell is situated on Menorca's north coast and is set within a horseshoe-shaped bay with a sandy beach.
The golf course at Son Parc is just a stone's throw away, while the capital city Mahon is also close by for a day trip.
