Family holiday to Menorca 'offers plenty of excitement'
People thinking of taking a family holiday to Menorca over the coming months have been assured there will be plenty of activities for people of all ages to enjoy once they arrive.
Carmen Hernandez Gomez, market analyst at the Spanish Tourism Office, says the range of cultures that have played a part in the island's history means there is a wealth of ancient sites to visit.
She advises paying a visit to spots such as Ciutadella and Mahon, where a number of invasions have left the resorts with a diverse feel.
"Try the Cami de Cavalls ancient routes adapted for tourists to do them by horse, foot or on mountain bike. Try kayak excursions around S'Albufera des Grau," Ms Gomez urges.
The expert goes on to acknowledge the role food will play in a top family holiday in Menorca, noting dishes such as lobster stew are among the local specialities.
Menorca is one of the Balearic Islands and is known as a quieter alternative to Mallorca, which could be an option for those seeking a more vibrant trip.
