Explore ancient churches on a Menorca villa holiday
In Ciutadella, visitors can find the Ciutadella Cathedral - a 13th century place of worship which features some detailed architecture.
Stone carvings of mythical creatures can be seen on the exterior of the church, which also has a large Neo-Gothic awning above the main altar.
Also in Ciutadella is the Santa Clara Church, which was established in 1287 and has undergone numerous restorations over the years.
Here, tourists can see a wooden carving portraying the Adoration of Shepherds, which was once stolen and then recovered after some time.
Today, Santa Clara Church is home to a small group of nuns.
Holiday makers eager to explore Ciutadella's churches can rent Menorca villas in Cala Blanes, which is just a short drive away from the historic town.
The resort has its own aqua park, as well as a wide range of restaurants, karaoke bars and discos, so may be perfect for those who enjoy a fun-filled and active break.
