Discover hidden gems on villa holidays in Menorca

From beautiful beaches to ancient culture, there is much to discover on villa holidays in Menorca.

Lazaro Criado, tourism minister for the popular Balearic island, said Menorca is a "fantastic destination for everyone", including families looking for a holiday in the sun and couples seeking a romantic getaway.

Located just two hours from the UK, the island was said to offer a number of 'hidden gems' among its child-friendly resorts.

"The island's beautiful natural surroundings ... and its ancient megalithic culture are just some of the hidden gems in Menorca, as well as its 18th century British heritage, small fishing villages, traditional food and wine and friendly local people," Mr Criado said.

Those staying in private villas in Menorca can also explore the 300-year-old bridle path Cami de Cavalls on either foot, bicycle or horseback.

Travelbite.co.uk previously highlighted the variety of activities available for those on villa holidays in Menorca as one of its key attractions.

Los Delfines Aqua Park in Cituadella was said to be the ideal family trip, while the website also recommended parents take some time to hire a boat and explore the island from the water.
