Book a Menorca holiday and kick back

Families looking for somewhere truly relaxing to spend their next break abroad could consider a Menorca holiday.

According to one travel journalist, the island offers unspoilt beaches without the crowds and is much quieter than its neighbours Mallorca and Ibiza.

In an article for the Canwest News Service, the unnamed writer said he and his wife uncovered many hidden delights in Menorca.

He said the first thing visitors notice upon their arrival is the limestone cliff and the lack of high-rise buildings.

And he said that since the island is so small, it can be easily explored, from the capital Mahon at one end to the ancient port town of Ciutadella at the other.

There are also several other towns between the two which tourists may wish to explore, including Ferreries in the centre of Menorca, which is the small industry capital of the island.

Those renting Menorca villas in Torre Soli will be able to reach Ferreries quickly by car, while Mahon and Ciutadella are also a reasonably short drive away.

Here, they will be able to indulge in some total relaxation, as the resort is set on a hill above Son Bou, offering spectacular views of the coast as well as the surrounding countryside.
