Beach holidays to Menorca in demand in 2012?
People seeking out a getaway in 2012, such as around villas in Menorca, may be looking at a beach holiday as their ideal venture.
This is after a new survey by TravelSupermarket highlighted that 37 per cent of people are aiming to enjoy a trip abroad which includes plenty of sun, sea and sand.
Holiday makers are also set to enjoy a getaway which lasts a week or more each time, after just eight per cent of respondents said they were planning a short getaway throughout 2012.
Looking into this particular statistic though, TravelSupermarket's Bob Atkinson told TravelMole: "However, the reduced demand may well lead to an increase in the number of bargains around, in which case we may see short breaks pick up again in the second half of the year."
Recently, Menorca's tourism minister Lazaro Criado encouraged families to consider booking stays in villas around the Spanish island, pointing out that the region "is a fantastic destination for everyone".
