'Marvel at a merman legend' on a Menorca villa holiday

Legend has it that a merman named Xoroi emerged from the seas and chose a cave as his home before terrorising locals and capturing a soon-to-be married beauty from her family.

Many years later, a search party found a man and woman living in their cave with two children, but on being discovered the man and his eldest son leapt into the sea, never to return.

During the day, holiday makers can visit the fascinating Cova d'en Xoroi cave that can be found on the side of the island's stunning cliffs.
