Visit Cala Deia for "hidden gem" of holidays in Mallorca

Taking a holiday in Mallorca is a popular option among Britons – perhaps even more so during the winter, as the island enjoys regular sunshine in contrast to much of Europe.

Nicky Holford, writing for the Daily Telegraph, recognises this and names the Spanish island as one of the top places to travel to over the coming months.

In particular, it is noted that a visit to Cala Deia beach on the western side of the landmass will be worthwhile.

"Cala Deia is a tiny shingle and pebble beach with beautifully clear water and rocky cliffs that curve around the bay, making it feel quite secret," the travel author states.

Perhaps punctuating a holiday in Mallorca with a seaside meal in the area is a good choice, as local fisherman still set off every morning in hope of a tasty catch.

Recent research by Experian Hitwise showed Mallorca was one of the top ten most-searched vacation destinations among online users in the last month.
