The new Partido Popular government is looking to enhance the tourism industry across the Balearic Islands with strategies which could benefit those staying in Mallorca villas.
Having been in office for over 100 days now, the government is hoping to expand the region's economy for the better, See Mallorca reported.
Some of the work set to be undertaken includes creating fresh laws to aid the Balearic Islands' tourist sector and improving how planning permission in the area is handled.
Currently, the government has more than 700 planning applications for it to handle, with some of these hitting problems due to complex legal requirements.
However, the party has assured environmental groups that any alterations will not lead to green belt or protected land being affected.
People who take last-minute flights to villas in Mallorca may have the chance to spot such movie icons as Tom Hanks and Halle Berry in action, as the duo are currently staying on the island to film the new blockbuster Cloud Atlas.
