Taste romance in a Mallorca villa

The Times has named Mallorca capital Palma as one of the best romantic break destinations, recommending the city for people who want to combine private quality time with cultural kicks and lively nightlife.

"If you want total isolation, this isn't for you. But if you want a private historic hidey-hole in one of the Med's liveliest and most underrated cities, it certainly is," the publication observes.

According to the newspaper, couples can intertwine the privacy of their accommodation - a Mallorca villa, perhaps - with the "sophisticated" restaurant and bar scene.

During the day, tourists can walk arm-in-arm through the picturesque lanes, paying a visit to the location's gothic cathedral and soaking up the atmosphere of the old town.

Meanwhile, a recent Independent article highlighted Palma's restaurants as a potential highlight of a Mallorca holiday.
