Stay at villa on Mallorca 'for fantastic cuisine'
Families and couples who book stays at villas on the island of Mallorca will find they are in a prime position to tuck into a "fantastically wide range of cuisine".
That is the view of journalist and author Anna Nicholas, who says the capital – Palma – has everything tourists could dream of, from classy and sophisticated restaurants to authentic fish eateries.
And great food and drink is not confined to Palma, as the expert goes on to recommend the "excellent foodie areas" of Puerto Portals, which includes the Tristan and Flannigan restaurants.
"For best value local fare, my advice is always to go where the locals eat. If a restaurant's packed with tourists, avoid it like the plague," Ms Nicholas advises.
She adds she lives in Soller, where local restaurants offer tasty meals at reasonably prices.
Ms Nicholas operates as an expert writer and journalist on the subject of the Balearic Islands, which are popular with UK holiday makers.
