Sant Pere festival on a Mallorca villa holiday

One of these festivals takes place in June in Port d'Alcudia and is called the Festes partonals de Sant Pere.

The festival celebrates Sant Pere - the patron saint of sailors and is focused around events at the sea.

A procession from the sea and the land finishes in a fireworks display at midnight on June 29th but the warm up to the festival lasts for a week before, giving holiday makers plenty of opportunity to enjoy some of the traditional cheer of the Balearic Islands.

An alternative to enjoying this festival on a Mallorca villa holiday would be a day trip to the City of Alcudia.

The walls of the city are regarded as a cultural site and were built to protect the town from attacks from the outside.
