Royal palace in Mallorca
Visitors to the Balearic island can take in the Valldemossa Charterhouse, which contains the palace of King Sancho, the old royal residence, and the Real Cartuja.
Dating back to the 15th century, the palace is an old royal residence and the Charterhouse or Real Cartuja has a neo-classic church, an old pharmacy and the cells of the monks.
The area has lots of history to keep visitors entertained and the cells once imprisoned famous composer Frederic Chopin and the writer George Sand.
Both spent a winter together in cell number four and Chopin's piano, letters and portraits are on display.
If holiday makers still want more then the Charterhouse will not disappoint.
A fine Contemporary Art Museum in contained within that showcases the important works of Miro, Picasso, Tapies and Juli Ramis, amongst others.
The island also has a fine number of beaches and long walks for visitors looking to enjoy the outdoor qualities on offer as well as the brilliant culture.
