Rent a Mallorca villa to see why the island is named a 'golf jewel'

Golfing enthusiasts will be glad to hear that Mallorca has been described as a "fantastic Mediterranean golf jewel" by a leading magazine.

Golf International journalist David Brice said Mallorca is a "shining star" in the "small galaxy" that makes up the Balearic Islands.

He insisted that as well a being a great destination for beach lovers and culture vultures, it is also a "true golfer's heaven".

"There are few countries in the world where both avid golfers as well as those less enchanted by the game can thoroughly enjoy a vacation together," Mr Brice remarked.

He explained that there are around two dozen golf course in Mallorca, among which are some of the best in Spain and indeed Europe.

While golfers may not have time to play them all during their Mallorca villa holiday, Mr Brice said he was confident that once people visit the island, they will come back again to see more of what it has to offer.

Those hoping to get out and about and explore Mallorca, uncovering its golfing hotspots in the process, could rent their own private Spanish villas in Felanitx.

From here, resorts in both the north and south of the island are easily accessible, while those on the east coast are just a stone's throw away.

A ten-minute drive will bring holiday makers to Cala d'Or where they can relax and enjoy a day on the beach.
