Rare vultures breeding around Mallorca villas
Nature lovers may be able to catch a rare sight if they head to villas in Mallorca in the near future.
According to the Balearic department for the environment, the Spanish island has become the destination of choice for an endangered variety of European vultures to breed.
The organisation has acknowledged that a chick and parents of the neophron percnopterus family have been spotted near to Arta's Llevant nature reserve.
Such a natural wonder is the first time that this variety of vulture has chosen Mallorca to breed on since 2006.
It is not just rare animals which may catch the eye of people staying in Mallorca villas over the next few months though.
That is because it has been revealed recently that the popular Spanish destination will also be the setting for Cloud Atlas, a Hollywood blockbuster starring Halle Berry, Tom Hanks and Jim Broadbent.
Filming for the movie is set to begin this month, under the watchful eyes of directors the Wachowskis brothers and Tom Tykwer.
