Pick from one of 41 Blue Flag beaches on a Mallorca holiday

According to the island's Daily Bulletin, 41 of the 85 Blue Flag beaches in the Balearics can be found on the holiday hotspot.

Those renting a villa in Alcudia can soak up the sun and splash about in the waves on a number of nearby top beaches as the one at Muro – along with Porto Cristo - has been "singled out for special distinctions" once again, the publication said.

Meanwhile, holiday makers who want to hop in their hire car and discover other great coastal areas could seek out Santa Ponsa, which has been awarded the accolade for the first time.

Holiday makers staying in Alcudia may not wish to leave though as the resort boasts a large sandy bay with a wide range of watersport activates – and at night there is plenty to keep visitors of all ages happy with bars and restaurants galore.
