Participants of the 2012 Mallorca Challenge revealed

Sports fans taking up a stay in Mallorca villas to catch the 2012 Mallorca Challenge cycle race have been told of some of next year's participants.

The event will be taking place across the Spanish island hotspot between February 5th and 9th and will feature a host of well-known cyclists and teams.

Two of the biggest names to be featured in the 2012 edition of the race will be Andy & Frank Schleck.

The brothers fared particularly well in the Tour de France earlier this year, with Andy completing the illustrious event in second place and Frank not far behind in third spot.

Each will be hoping to show off their skills once more in the 2012 Mallorca Challenge, where they will form a section of the RadioShack-Nissan-Trek team.

Joining the Schleck brothers on the start line will be Team Sky, Katusha, Team NettApp and Lotto-Belisol, to name just a few.

Last year's event saw Brazilian cyclist Murilo Fischer claim the Magaluf-Palmanova trophy, having ridden for the Garmin Cervelo outfit.
