Orange juice is refreshing speciality of Mallorca
Orange groves in the Soller valley have been growing the fruit for centuries and the area has been filled with the aroma of the fruit for just as long.
The Tramuntana area provides the necessary water levels to grow the citrus fruit that was brought to the island by Moorish sea-farers.
Translating as the valley of gold, the Soller Valley has a large concentration of orange groves as well as olive groves and an electric railway has been running through 13 tunnels to reach Palma since 1912.
Holiday makers taking a tram trip to the Port of Soller can enjoy the orange blossom trees and experience how the oranges were transported to the port so that they could be exported to the south of France.
Soller orange juice is highly recommended and is a speciality of the island.
