Olive oil festival in Mallorca
The X Fira de L'Oliva is a fair dedicated to olives, one of the most traditional of Mediterranean products.
Taking place in a small village called Cairnari, in the municipality of Selva, the fair promotes the traditional production of olive oil.
The festival is now ten years old and as well as promoting the production of olive oil, also looks into the area's main agricultural activity, the growth of olive trees.
A mill used to make the oil will be open to the public during the fair gives visitors a great opportunity to witness how the product is made, from the olive, down to the oil.
Stands selling local produce will cover the area alongside the activities related to the production of the oil, one of these being the harvesting of olives with traditional tools.
