Midsummer's Eve in Mallorca
Many towns across Mallorca celebrate the event in which fire takes a leading role.
Bonfires and music provide entertainment for the event and locals and visitors can dance around the fire but the real magic begins at midnight when the ritual of purification takes place.
Tradition states that people should write down all the things they want changing and throw it into the bonfire.
While the fire is burning, people jump up three times in a row and the good luck ritual is completed.
After the celebrations the following day is celebrated for John the Baptist and colliding with the summer event it makes it a great occasion for holiday makers to enjoy some of the island's culture and heritage.
Midsummer's Eve celebrations occur on June 23rd with religious celebration on the 24th.
