May 'a good month for a Mallorca holiday'
The Independent notes that the month of May is perhaps the ideal time to head to the island, which is the largest in Spain and located in the Mediterranean Sea.
Palma, the island's capital, could easily satisfy an appetite for travel in 48 hours, the publication reveals.
"The beaches are still quiet, the temperature is rising and there's plenty of elbow room for exploring the old town's mysterious lanes and picturesque squares," it observes.
An easily navigable city, visitors will not miss its imposing gothic La Seu cathedral, which towers above its peers and can be seen from most areas of the metropolis.
Meanwhile, Bellver castle, north-west of the city, is open between 08:00 and 17:30 local time between Monday and Saturday and is popular with tourists.
One well-known face who recently enjoyed a Mallorca holiday is Claire Young, star of The Apprentice.
