Mallorca villas: Increase in overnight stays to Balearic Islands
More people looked to have sought out stays in Mallorca villas, if results of a new study are anything to go by.
The Institute of National Statistics (INE) revealed that the number of overnight stays across the whole of the Balearic Islands stood at 4.7 million nights throughout October.
Such statistics represent a 10.5 per cent increase when compared to the number of people who visited the Spanish islands in the same month in 2010.
Another result found by the INE is that the length of stays has jumped slightly from 6.51 days last year to 6.52 days during October of this year.
The study comes soon after Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket conducted its own research, which revealed that tourism numbers in Spain have jumped 9.2 per cent year-on-year between January and September.
Furthermore, the survey suggested that around a quarter of foreign visitors to the country (24.3 per cent) came from the UK.
