Mallorca villas: Brits seeking longer stays abroad
Families in the UK are looking to enjoy a longer getaway, such as to Mallorca villas, more now than in previous years, new research has suggested.
According to figures released by the Office for National Statistics, 2010 saw Brits opting to travel abroad for an average of 10.9 nights at a time.
This statistic is a considerable jump from the 9.9 nights that holiday makers from the UK were choosing in 2007.
Furthermore, On The Beach has observed that Mediterranean hot spots such as Mallorca and Costa Blanca were proving popular for Brits seeking two-week breaks.
Alistair Daly, marketing director of the firm, acknowledged: "One week abroad will certainly help you relax, yet an extra seven days is the perfect way to really let all your cares slip away."
Recently, couples hoping to snap up some villas in Mallorca were told that the summer weather could see some of the finest vintage wine in years being produced from vineyards across the Spanish destination's resort of Pla y Llevant.
