Mallorca villa tourists 'can enjoy good food in Palma'
Writing in the Independent, Kevin Gould notes that beyond the touristy front of tapas bars and cafes, the capital city is overwhelmed with some of the best restaurants on the island.
El Perrito offers hungry souls on Mallorca villa holidays breakfast fare such as juices and muesli, while La 5a Puneta is reportedly popular with artists and architects for its wild mushrooms and artichokes on sticks.
More traditional Mallorcan food can be found at Ca'n Nofre, where delicacies like tongue with capers "really makes you feel like you've escaped the tourist ghetto".
"Mallorca's seaside capital offers a lovely jumble of modernista and medieval architecture, mirrored in a food scene that mixes classics with cooking's new wave," advises the article.
The island's culinary prowess was recently extolled by Michael Winner, who praised the restaurants of Deia in the Times.
