Mallorca villa holidays to be more accessible this autumn

Travellers from the UK could find it easier to embark on Mallorca villa holidays this autumn after a summer service to the island was extended for five weeks.

British Airways launched flights to the destination from London City airport in May and originally planned to operate the route until September.

However, strong demand from people setting off on Mallorca holidays led the airline to extend the schedule until October 31st.

People planning to rent villas in Alcudia and other locations on the island will now have more opportunities to visit after the peak summer season to enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere.

BA CityFlyer, the subsidiary airline that is operating the flights, will also continue to provide services to Ibiza from London City until the end of October.

Luke Hayhoe, the carrier's commercial manager, said: "These leisure routes have really taken off from London City; they proved so popular that we have already increased frequency to Mallorca to five flights a week and to Ibiza to four flights a week in July and August.

"Now we have the opportunity to extend the season and customers can enjoy some late sun with the excellent autumn climate that the Balearic Islands can offer."
