Mallorca set to see ‘high quality olive crop’

Holiday makers have the chance to sample a delicious array of fruit if they snap up villas in Mallorca over the coming weeks.

The Spanish island hotspot is expected to produce a high quality olive crop this year, thanks in part to favourable weather conditions.

According to See Mallorca, low levels of rainfalls across the popular holiday destination have allowed olive trees across the island to bloom with fruit.

Although the conditions mean that the olive harvest will produce between 25 and 30 per cent less products than in previous years, it is estimated that top quality olive oil will be seen.

In order to get a taste of the fruit picked from this year's harvest, families should look to head along to Caimari once they have booked into Mallorca villas.

The region will be hosting its annual Olive Fair between November 19th and 20th, where a wide array of snacks is set to be served.

News of the positive olive harvest comes soon after See Mallorca reported that the organisation which governs Binissalem's wine production has deemed this year's grape harvest in Mallorca a success.
