Mallorca is an 'autumnal delight'

According to the Times, after the summer hordes have departed, Mallorca welcomes holiday makers seeking art and walking.

The report claimed that that the north-west of the island has the best of the walking as the Tramuntana mountains act as a backdrop for the stroll.

"There is now so much to do off-season in Majorca that I have started to wonder why anyone comes in high summer," Cath Urgquhart wrote in the newspaper.

The north-west of Mallorca can easily be reached by those with a villa in the north of the island while anybody enjoying a traditional farmhouse in the north is also just a short peaceful drive from the coast and can take in the best of what Mallorca has to offer.

Holiday makers seeking culture as well as walking could visit the Robert Graves museum, based at the former home of the British poet who moved to the island in 1929.
