Mallorca holidays 'set for surge in popularity in 2011'
There is to be a surge in demand for holidays in Mallorca next year, the latest research indicates.
SeeMallorca.com reports a study by the Association of British Travel Agents shows there has been a nine per cent rise in the number of bookings already and many more are expected during January – a popular time for confirming a break.
The website suggests Mallorca is the perfect spot for UK-based holiday makers to enjoy a few days in the sun.
Not only is it a short-haul destination – meaning there is little hassle associated with travelling there – but the pound is expected to make a recovery against the euro, resulting in the island becoming increasingly affordable.
According to the online portal, everybody who books a stay in Mallorca can "expect to receive a great holiday experience".
The Balearics – which also include Minorca – were recently named by Travelsupermarket.com as one of the best spots for a break in 2011.
