Mallorca holidays 'prime target for flying Brits'
The Argus reveals that almost half a million eager tourists passed through Gatwick on Friday as schools across the UK broke up for the season, a sizeable proportion of whom were making their way towards Mallorca holidays.
Spain is one of the most popular sun destinations for 2008, with Palma de Mallorca emerging as a popular destination for flying Brits.
Frances Tuke, a representative of the Association of British Travel Agents, told the news provider that people may be looking for ways to save on holiday in the midst of financial uncertainty.
"Some people were really questioning as to whether people are going on holiday in quite the same numbers as they were last year, but it does seem to be the case that they are despite the credit crunch," she said.
A new survey from Cheapflights.co.uk has found that Mallorca holidays are among the top ten destinations for Brits this summer.
