Mallorca holidays: Ceramics Biennale show to begin this weekend

People looking forward to Mallorca villa holidays over the coming months might be interested in arranging a trip to the town of Marratxi to attend a popular event.

The 2010 Ceramics Biennale exhibition will begin this weekend (May 29th) and run until July 10th.

Every two years, the biennale is held to celebrate and promote ceramics, an art form that is closely associated with the town of Marratxi.

Holiday makers enjoying Mallorca villa breaks will be able to arrange a trip to the destination, which is part of the Raiguer region in the centre of the island, to see works that were created by international artists.

The prize-winning pieces from this year's programme will be exhibited at the Museu del Fang, allowing visitors to see a selection of unique creations from around the world.

Marratxi's local council has held a fair dedicated to ceramics, the Fira del Fang, in March of every year since 1984 to ensure that the town's association with the art form continues to be recognised.
