Mallorca holiday makers can make a splash at the Western Park

Those enjoying Mallorca holidays can enjoy all the attractions at a water park with a difference by heading towards Magaluf.

Leaving the peace and relaxation of their Mallorca villa for the day, families can visit the Western Park for some watery fun.

The attraction has a Wild West theme and boasts numerous flumes, pools and water-based rides for youngsters and adults alike.

Thrill seekers can ride the Tornado, which propels them down a twisting slide in a double floating ring, or try out the Kamikaze with its 30-metre drop.

Rides like the Mega Slide, which features floating rafts big enough for the whole family, and the Wild River are also popular among visitors.

Little ones have their own special Waterland area complete with water buckets, waterfalls and gentle slides.

And if the rides are not enough to keep holiday makers entertained, the Western Park also stages regular shows featuring daredevil divers, action-packed shootouts and a circus show known as the Wheel of Death.

Those hoping to spend a day at the Western Park could rent Mallorca villas in Sa Rapita, which is just 40 minutes from Palma. Magaluf is just a little further along the coast from the capital.

Sa Rapita itself is a quiet retreat away from some of the busier resorts, with a small selection of bars and restaurants as well as a small marina.
