Mallorca gets it first UNESCO World Heritage site
Brits heading to villas in Mallorca will now be able to explore the island's first ever UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Serra de Tramuntana landscape has been given the honour in an announcement at the 35th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which was held in Paris last month.
Holiday makers have plenty to see when heading to the destination, with the awe-inspiring mountain range spanning 90km and stretches from the Mallorca resort of Andratx to the tourist hot spot of Pollenca.
Stephen Dight, managing director of Mallorca Sotheby's International Realty, commented: "The Serra de Tramuntana is an enormously popular part of the Island in which to live and holiday as the scenery is so dramatic."
There are plenty of other exciting sites to visit while in Mallorca villas too, with the resort of Palma Nova offering a range of highlights.
A writer at TravelBite.co.uk noted that the destination includes "well-kept sandy beaches, beautiful traffic-free pedestrianised promenades and bustling nightlife" to entertain Brits.
