Lake Cuber offers one of Mallorca's best walking holidays
A travel writer for the Times said the man-made reservoir is snuggled in a basin of the Sierra Tramuntana mountains and is the island's "best walking region".
It is also said to be a favourite spot for the island's birds as holiday makers can see "falcons, ospreys and black vultures with a near three-metre wingspan and even eagles circling the peaks".
As a fan of circular walks, the writer added that the scenery is "breathtaking" and hikers can even dine at one of a whole network of mountain refuges to build up their strength for the journey back.
Meanwhile, holiday makers who also like romantic saunters could elect to stay in the beautiful resort of Puerto Pollensa.
It boasts a pedestrian Pine Walk that is lined with cafes and restaurants and visitors can also take a stroll along the coastline to discover remote beaches that can only be reached on foot.
