Highlights of holidays in Mallorca taken to London workers

City workers in London may be booking villas in Mallorca in their droves after a successful promotional campaign targeted them this week.

Docklands 24 reports the Spanish Tourist Board showed off some of the island's specialities - such as tapas and wine - in Canary Wharf.

In addition to some of Mallorca's famous food and drink, the popular holiday destination's music was spinning at the iconic London location in a bid to highlight the best of the island.

Canary Wharf was chosen because of its proximity to London City Airport, which offers flights direct to Mallorca, the news source explains.

Indeed, the UK's flag carrier British Airways now operates a route from the capital into the Balearics.

Londoners looking for some late-summer sun at a villa in Mallorca may be well advised to take up the airline's offering.

Budget operator Monarch recently announced it is to allow travellers to fly to Mallorca with a bicycle for £18.50 in order to take advantage of the spot's perfect cycling conditions.
